At West Berry Federation, Carole Henderson leads our Science Curriculum and we us White Rose as a scheme of work. We chose this as it is a strong, well‑structured scheme that breaks learning into clear, manageable steps while ensuring full National Curriculum coverage and rich practical investigation, helping pupils develop deep scientific understanding. It is particularly effective in promoting sustainability, interweaving sustainability-focused units, encouraging children to understand environmental issues, make responsible choices, and appreciate their impact on both the local and global environment. By embedding scientific enquiry within real‑world, planet‑focused contexts, White Rose Science not only builds knowledge and skills but also nurtures thoughtful, environmentally aware young citizens.
